01 — Data we collect
Account information
- Name, email address, and profile details provided during registration or Google sign-in.
- Role selection (creator or musician) and onboarding preferences.
Audio uploads
- Original tracks uploaded by creators for stem separation.
- Stem submissions uploaded by musicians in response to challenges.
Payment data
- Wallet balance and transaction history managed through Stripe.
- Stemsmith does not store full credit card numbers — payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe.
02 — How we use your data
Platform operations
- To create and manage your account, authenticate sessions, and display your profile.
- To process audio uploads, run stem separation, and deliver challenge kits to musicians.
Challenge matching
- To match musicians with relevant challenges based on instrument, genre, and availability.
- To display submissions to creators for review and selection.
Payments
- To hold bounties in escrow, release payouts to winning musicians, and process wallet top-ups.
- To maintain transaction records for your account.
03 — Third-party services
Services we rely on
- Google Sign-In — for authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Stripe — for payment processing, escrow, and musician payouts via Stripe Connect.
- Vercel — for hosting, serverless functions, and blob storage for uploaded audio files.
- Replicate — for AI-powered stem separation of uploaded tracks.
04 — Data retention
How long we keep your data
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Rejected submissions are deleted within 30 days, per our Terms & Rights.
- Accepted stems are retained as part of the completed challenge record.
- Transaction records are retained for legal and accounting purposes.
05 — Cookies
What we use
- Stemsmith uses session cookies managed by Better Auth to keep you signed in.
- We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
06 — Your rights
Access and deletion
- You can request a copy of your personal data at any time.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
